Contouring For Dark Skin

Contouring For Dark Skin

Everyone is highlighting and contouring like crazy. I am now seeing some very lean nose and over done eyebrows and  contour! This is a no no. The need for a pro is still very much needed but that doesn’t mean that you can not practice on your own. Highlighting and contouring makes a huge difference! I saw this simple DIY on  this and had to share! This is for the makeup enthusiaist

Remember, this type of contouring is not for every day. This is for special events and/or if you will be photographed a lot. I know it’s a lot of makeup. I know some of you are going to say that the face doesn’t match the neck. It’s to brighten and warm up her face.

1.) Moisturize (and prime if you want)

2.) I mixed MAC studio finish concealer NC35 with Hourglass veil fluid makeup N3 sand. Brush used was #Sigma Concealer brush -F75

3.) For contouring I used true match LUMI by L’oreal in C7-8

4.) Blended with Sigma Foundation F60 brush and fingers.

5.) Set light parts with MAC mineralize skin finish in medium deep . I set dark parts with Black Radiance pressed powder in bronze glow. For highlight and glow I added BareMinerals ready luminizer “the shining moment” along top part of cheek bones, cupids bow, forehead, and bridge of nose.

6.) The rest of the makeup used: Eyebrows- from the #anastasiabeverlyhills Brow Pro Palette “Ebony” and also #anastasiabeverlyhills Brow Wiz in “Ebony” Eyes- I used original Naked Palette and NYX black gel liner on top lash line only. Mascara- Benefit “they’re real” Lips- Rimmel lipliner “Ravish” and MAC “myth” lipstick. Also added NYX clear lipgloss. Cheeks- Black Radiance baked blush in “toasted almond” Lashes @eyemimocosmetics #NTR38

TIPS: You may need to add more of your DARK product to jawline, cheekbones and forehead as you start blending. With darker skin tones it’s easier to blend the dark into the light areas to get that in between color. Blending by section is definitely easier. Also, after you blend you might want to “re-contour” some of your lines with a dark pressed powder or matte bronzer.” Photo credit @glam_her_booth . Culled from:
