The groom and his guys can also sport colour in their ties or on their cuff links. But colour will be most prominently displayed throughout the day in the bridesmaid dresses.
Some fervent folks might want to match the dresses to the invitation ribbons, the favour tags, and the bouquets but this is not the only way to define a style.
Mixing and matching dresses in varying shades — pink and orange, or pale green and yellow — can sometimes make a statement stronger than uniformity.

Hello Bukola,
Your colours are lovely not bad.. as for the engagement, set your purple and silver against white meaning allow the table linen and the chair covers to be just white.. and your crockeries with cake stand in silver.. Allow all other props be in purple.. this would make it stand out( the purple)
Burgundy and Gold is very workable with the background wall paint.. add in another shade of purple-(deep plum works well with burgundy) to your colours..and work this against ivory. so you could have the chair covers in ivory chair tie in gold. Table cloth in burgundy, crockeries in gold- charger plates in gold but serving plate can be plain white. Your flowers can be in cream and burgundy.
For your bridal train, the girls can have their dresses in plum colour(http://bit.ly/HBYKuC) with flowers in cream.. groomsmen with light gray suit and tie in plum or burgundy while the groom wears silver gray suit, white shirt, silver tie and waistcoat either in silver or with suit colour.. his buttonhole can be in burgundy or just cream..
Hope this helps,
All the best,
Anit

Hi Denise,
It shouldn’t be much of a problem.. Gray, Black or even Petrol Blue suit can go with an orange tie. This is better worn on a white shirt.

Anita

Hi Joseph,
Silver gray, light gray, slate gray( dark gray) or steel blue suit can bring out your colours. And of course, set against your white shirt and silver or cream waistcoat..(cravats)

I have a wedding coming up in sept,my colours are coffee and cream,am confused on what to use for my ashoebi?

Hello Carole,
Coffee brown is an earthy colour which means that it can go with almost any colour.
Have you thought of Peach or Pink Blush? Tiffany Blue, Mint green , Teal blue or Turquoise blue can really come out well with brown and Gold.. rather than use gold, you could try using bronze or Copper for a little twist..
You’ve got the above to choose from… Hope this helps.

Anita

Hi Leah..
Yes you can actually. You could use one as the main colour and another as an accent or background colour.Other colours like white, gold or silver could be used to co-ordinate it. Check this colour board. I prefer the combination of Apple green and Royal or Sapphire blue to get the desired effect. http://bit.ly/N3MfX7
Blue is complementary to yellow-orange or orange thats the best combination for blue but then you could also have a mix of purples/ violet shades to blue to create a twist to it. Any shades of pinks.. from light pinks to fuchsia would also come out nice.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Anita

Hello Oluwatosin,
Pink is good with greens. Any shade of green would go with it but if you are dark it’s best you use deep pink on lemon-green for your white wedding.
In your trad wedding, you both could go for mustard yellow and violet blue colour or a different shade of pink like coral pink and violet-blue.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Anita

Hello my wedding Nigeria,
My wedding comes up this Easter and I want to use the colours peach, olive green and gold and I have these questions:
* Do these colours work well together?
* How do I combine the green and gold for my bridesmaids and my maid of honour? Who wears what colour?
* How do I incoporate the colours in the suit, shirt and tie for my hubby and his groomsmen?
Please, I need your reply urgently.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
