Best Make-Up Foundation For Black Skin
I have a combination skin meaning some areas are dry and some especially the T-zone is always oily. It could be quite embarrassing when out in the sunny weather and your face is just greasy enough to make an omelette with it. Haha!
My main foundation is finished and haven’t been able to get my exact shade so I have been on the search for any foundation that heals the skin with good moisturizing vitamins and also provide the perfect matte look all day without worrying to touch up . Most women with black skin are said to be better off with an oil-free foundation or moisturizing face cream. So here are some good make-up products I find quite good for the woman with black skin. These are tried and tested with good reviews by black woman everywhere in the world.
MAC PRO-LONGWEAR FOUNDATION, $31.00
If you just want a lightweight oil-controlling foundation that lasts up to 15 hours without the need for a primer. It doesn’t melt or rub off onto the phone or on your collar, and has a build able sheer-to-medium coverage with a wonderful satin finish then you might want to try MAC pro longwear.
BOBBI BROWN CREAMY CONCEALER, $23.00
Black skins generally need concealer shades that have a red tone, to warm up dark areas. Use this award-winning concealer (I like the shades Medium/Dark Bisque and Very Deep Bisque) to erase dark circles. To create a smooth finish, set with powder.
BOBBI BROWN TINTED MOISTURE BALM, $54.00
This balm is a good moisturizer for light and even coverage. It is ideal for anyone with dry, dehydrated or mature skin, and for those who are not keen on wearing a lot of make-up. It has a long-lasting coverage, and leaves the skin feeling silky soft and smooth throughout the day. Best of all, it provides a beautiful dewy finish. You’ll be sure to get compliments on how radiant and even your skin tone is with this product.
FASHION FAIR CREAM TO POWDER, $24.00
This product is one of my favorites because it’s talc free, has a sheer base that slides easily on the skin and stays for longer hours without giving a “cakey” feeling. If you want a natural look, go for this.
MARY KAY OIL MATTIFIER, $15.00
A lot of ladies can swear by this product. It is Non-comedogenic (will not clog pores) and does wonders especially for oily skin. This primer is said to last for hours instantly absorbing oil and controlling shine.
MARY KAY TIMEWISE, MATTE WEAR LIQUID FOUNDATION, $20.00
This foundation is said to contain the essential vitamin E that helps the skin looks younger and firmer. It also mattifies the skin and reduces the oil on the face. Moreso, if you are on a tight budget, this is the best product for you.
IMAN CREAM TO POWDER, $16.00
I love Iman cream to powder although a bit heavy for my type of skin and causes a bit of break out for me. However, I like it’s sheer silk to give the coverage of cream combined with a velvety powder finish. You can achieve a full or partial coverage with this powder. A review claims it is good for use in warm weather , which is a comfort for chics staying in the hottest part of the world .
: You might have to use other make-up products to get a perfect finish. I use fashion fair, honey color and then top it up with mac perfect finish. I am not a make-up buff but I just know that this works for my skin.
